Dublin Airport: The largest and main international airport in the country is Dublin Airport. Its history can be dated all the way back to World War I, as the area was used for a wartime aerodrome. It then had its grand opening in 1940, with the first flight going to Liverpool. The airport then continued to upgrade and expand, to reach the success it has now. In fact, in 2019 the airport welcomed 32.9 million passengers, marking it as the busiest year the airport has ever seen.
